This might be a question for your "Mac Guy."
I have a Mac--the episodes play perfectly on VLC. No problem.
But as for Quicktime, only *some* episodes play. Most of the time, there is sound but no picture (a white screen), but a *handful* of your episodes will play picture and sound--is there something that you are doing different to encode these so that they will play in Quicktime?
(If they play in Quicktime, I can play them in iTunes--which in turn, allows me to play them on my iPod or AppleTV, etc.)
Thanks!

Heya
I haven't looked into ipod compatibility much, but I do know that after a recent test on my machine, the encodes I am doing do not work in Quicktime. Quicktime does use the mp4 container, however it has very strict standards - more strict that the actual mp4 standards. So unfortunately, as of right now, our releases will not work on ipod. It's nothing wrong with your setup, it's our encodes.

Actually, it's not that there's anything wrong with the encodes, they are perfectly specification compliant (hence why FoT uses it, to ensure interoperability, or in other words that it works on many players instead of a few).
Unfortunately, Apple only have a partial H.264 decoder. It doesn't support some of the features used. It's up to Apple to add the support I'm afraid.
However on Mac I know that there is some way to replace the default H.264 decoder in Quicktime, and there's also mplayer and VLC.
